Marianna Molinari at Casa dei Giornalisti: AI, Journalism and Justice
Tomorrow, the Casa dei Giornalisti in Torino will host the event “Intelligenza artificiale. Limiti e opportunità nel giornalismo e nella giustizia”, a training session dedicated to exploring the opportunities and risks that artificial intelligence poses in journalism and the justice system.
The meeting, introduced by Stefano Tallia, President of ODG Piemonte, was structured in three parts: an in-depth exploration of how large language models such as ChatGPT work; a discussion on the legal challenges posed by AI in judicial proceedings, from fabricated references in legal briefs to the controversial issue of predictive justice; and finally, a practical session on prompt engineering, the new skill of effectively questioning AI systems.
Among the speakers Marianna Molinari, doctoral researcher within the LastJD program at the Universities of Bologna, Torino, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Her intervention will provide a valuable academic perspective, linking the development of artificial intelligence technologies with their implications for legal practice and access to justice in Europe.
Together with Fabio De Ponte, journalist at Rai, Marianna Molinari will contribute to an interdisciplinary debate that underlined the urgency of understanding both the technical functioning and the societal impacts of AI.
Marianna's participation reaffirms the importance of involving young legal scholars in shaping the dialogue on digital innovation, ensuring that reflections on AI and justice are informed not only by technological expertise but also by legal reasoning and ethical awareness.
The event, will be held at the Sala Toniolo of Palazzo Ceriana Mayneri, part of the Casa dei Giornalisti’s broader commitment to provide continuous professional training and foster discussions on the transformation of communication and justice in the digital age.
