Prof. Dr. Sarah Legner
Biography
Legner is an assistant professor of Civil Law, Competition and Intellectual Property Law, European Private Law at the EBS University of Business and Law in Wiesbaden, Germany, and an affiliated researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Her research focuses on antitrust law, copyright law, consumer law, and issues of digitalization in private law. She obtained her first state exam at the University of Tuebingen (2014) and her second state exam at the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart (2016). In 2019 she received her PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of Tuebingen. Her doctoral thesis dealt with the assessment of buyer power in European and German antitrust law. It was supported by a scholarship from the German National Merit Foundation.
Legner worked as a judge at a regional court in southern Germany before moving to the University of Konstanz as a post-doctoral researcher in 2019. There, she is working on her habilitation on a topic in German and European private law. In 2020, she was a guest lecturer at the Free University of Berlin.
